Julie is hosting today’s challenge,
As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the theme.
I discovered when I was looking through my cards (and photos of cards) that Green isn’t a colour I use predominantly. I’m not sure if that is my choice – or if it isn’t a colour liked by the people I make cards for!
However, in my stash (I have LOTS of stash) I found a small book of die cut images, complete with a background. This one called to me – so I used my favourite 6 x 6 card blank, onto which I matted some dark green paper. It picked out the dark leaves beautifully…
I layered the base image onto the green paper, after sticking some green and white bakers twine across the front. I glued the labels onto the twine where the pegs were so it looked like they were hanging from the twine, and put the remaining embellishments in the bottom left corner. Finally, I cut out a sentiment from a sentiment pad and put that in the bottom right corner. I chose Warmest Wishes as this meant I could use the card for a birthday, a get well, a thinking of you… versatile.
Good luck with the challenge – have fun!
