Crafty Cardmakers challenge 213 – For a Man/Boy

Maike is hosting today’s challenge, For a Man/Boy

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it meets the For a Man/Boy theme.
My card was made for a fishing loving friend,  using my favourite 6 x 6 card base.  Onto this I put a mat of turquoise blue textured card, which I had edged with faux stitching.  Layered onto this was a contrasting card in yellow.
The toppers were stamped onto white card using an old Woodware stamp set from my stash.   The images were coloured in using promarkers.  They are actually just one stamp – but I cut it up to make the different shapes and to decoupage the fish! I used my wink of stella pen to give the fish tail some sparkle.  I mounted the images onto black card to make them “pop” before sticking them onto the yellow card base.  I stamped the sentiment after I had stuck the images on and with hindsight (wonderful thing) I think I should have stamped the greeting in black.. but hey.
The ferns were a die from my stash – no clue who the manufacturer of this was – a lot of my dies are unlabelled, sadly.
Ideas for Male cards can be difficult to come up with – especially if they don’t have a hobby or interest to draw from!   I hope you enjoy this challenge and look forward to seeing the entries.
