Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 202 – Christmas

June is hosting our challenge today, and the theme is Christmas. This is our last challenge for 2017.

As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, a gift, or gift bag or tag, as long as it’s Christmas themed.

Please remember our 15 total challenge rule!

Kim has provided a prize for this challenge, so one lucky person will receive this box of goodies.

My card was made using a happy accident… I was cutting out a number of large snowflakes from white card when I noticed that the waste made a really nice aperture!  So I leveled one up and used it on this card, distressing the edges of the aperture with tumbled glass ink.
The base card is a 6 x 4 landscape card, which is quite an unusual fold.  On a plain piece of card the same size as the aperture I used distress inks to create the sky (tumbled glass and a pink) and a mauve inkpad to make the hills in the background.  Onto this, I stamped the trees and couple on the bench (card-io stamps) and added some snow using white glitter and a quickie glue pen.
I wrapped some decorative ribbon from my stash around the aperture card, and then stuck it onto the background card using very thin sticky pads.  I then mounted this topper onto some silver card, and applied the whole thing to the card.
Finally, I stamped my greeting onto the bottom of the card.
