CC Challenge 171 – by or under the sea

by the sea

Bec is hosting our By or Under the Sea challenge this week. We want to see what you can come up with that is either an underwater scene or a coastal/beach scene.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn’t have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn’t exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

We are sponsored for this challenge by WOODWARE CRAFT COLLECTION. with a prize of £12.00 to spend at your favourite Woodware Stockist, either in store or on line.

The Woodware design team are playing along with the challenge so check out their blog, which is there for inspiration at http://www.woodware.co.uk/blog.

My card is using my favourite 6 x 6 base, which I layered with pink and cream coloured card that had been cut with a swirly border punch.  (I’m not sure what punch it was as it was borrowed from a crafty friend and I’ve given it back now).

For the background of my topper , I scribbled onto a stamp block with my aqua pens in 2 shades of blue,2 shades of pink and yellow in lines and spritzed it with a fine spray of water.  I then stamped that onto my white stamping card.  Onto that, I overstamped with the beach hut scene and coloured the huts in with my pens.

I layered this onto my card base flat, although I could have used foam pads for added impact, and the final touch was a stamped, coloured and cut out sea shell.
